The words of haiku poet Mori Sumio, author of the haiku collection Sōbō (the inmense blue), were the inspiration for this creation. The words evoke a wide, deep sea. They also bring to mind towering mountains and a vast, verdant land. My imagination of the blue sea has become a motif that arouses many fantasies in me. Living in the world of performing arts means living with illusions. The great sense of the universe that flamenco embodies is a way of expressing the vastness of the immense blue, and it is something that greatly inspires me.
